The Eco Chic Wahine

We rocked the eco world with an exciting night filled with green tips, organic vendors and cool ideas on how to live with "island style activism." On Wednesday night, we hosted a Social Wahines (www.socialwahines.com) meeting upstairs of our Ward cafe in the Kaka'ako conference rooms.

We invited stylish greenies like Roberta Oaks, Organik Clothing, Roketo, Alliway, Les Saisons, Miemiko and SO MANY MORE... The 75 "social wahines" who attended got to check out fabulous goodness like bamboo-tees, dresses made of recycled material, tabletops designed with 100% reusable material, tote bags galore, biodegradable silverware, etc, etc, etc!

The night was FUN as we munched on pumpkin crunch and chocolate chip cookies. Wait, is that GREEN?! I don't know, but it sure was YUMMY! And to top the night off, our friend James Koshiba from Kanu Hawaii (www.kanuhawaii.com) gave a quick chat about making personal commitments to truly live ALOHA... my commitment is to ALWAYS CARRY A CUTE TOTE WHENEVER I GO SHOPPING and to REUSE RIBBON AND WRAPPING PAPER! Everybody can go green in their own way... so GET ON IT! :)

Doggie Day at The Wedding Cafe

Who doesn’t LOVE dogs?! Mochi, my chihuahua-terrier, is my BFF. Every day when I come home, Mochi’s always waiting for me with lots of LOVE and lots of FACE LICKS! We recently had a special DOGGIE DAY sidewalk sale in honor of our four-legged friends. We brought in a lot of great vendors including DJ, Jason Akiona, Fauna, Cocojor, Le Prissy Pets, Pet Power, Groomer Extraordinaire Cynthia Abbot, and our favorite FASHIONISTA Jessica O’neil. Awesome dogs, 80’s music, great food AND FASHION! What could be better? Well, to top it all off, we donated a portion of our sales to the Hawaii Dog Foundation, an awesome non-profit whose mission is to ensure that every dog in Hawaii is given the chance to live its life in peace, safety and contentment. Way to go Hawaii Dog Foundation!!! Overall, the whole day was a fun-filled success...DOG LOVERS UNITE!!!

Mother's Day!

This past Mothers Day was so much fun... We handed out complimentary pineapple iced teas to all the Moms and set up a fun picture taking area for families to get their photos taken. Can you imagine how funny our little Ward cafe looked with a mock "studio" set up? But it didnt matter, because it was priceless seeing all of the Moms with their kids smiling, hugging and taking pictures together as a family. This may sound cheesy, but it was totally heartwarming! The look on every Mothers' face was so happy and complete.

We even got to sneak in a few fun shots after all the Moms were gone! Can't wait for the next event!
